Alan Brydon

Alan Brydon is a Director of Data Imperium. He has over 40 years experience in Finance, Financial Services, IT and Professional Services and has worked in a number of senior finance and operations roles. For the last three years Alan has worked as an independent consultant with a particular focus on advising Private Equity companies on their IT acquisitions both in the pre and post stage, helping companies grow their business and improve their profitability. During the course of his career he was Senior Vice President of EMEA Consulting at Oracle. Prior to this Alan held several senior roles at CSC including Vice President Finance and Operations, Managing Director CSC Netherlands and Vice President Commercial Outsourcing. Alan started in Financial Services as Project Accountant for key IT projects at the London Stock Exchange throughout major periods of change in the London financial markets, with the move to significant deregulation and computerization of the trading and settlement processes, culminating in his appointment as Director of Finance. Alan is also a qualified Accountant.

John Gavin

John Gavin is a Director of Data Imperium, with over 28 years experience in Financial Services. In addition, he is a Director of ISITC Europe CIC, a  non-profit industry body, which is  a catalyst for collaborative innovation within the capital markets. He is also Chairman and co-founder of G4h and a Liveryman of the Information Technologists and World Traders Companies of the City of London. John has a number of charitable interests including being a Director of the Great River Race and is a visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University, Guildhall Business and Law.

He began his career in financial management before moving into sales and general management. John served on the board of Dexterus, a Bain Capital venture, and on various senior management boards within BT. John’s earlier career included a number of senior sales and marketing positions with Digital Equipment and ICL.  John has strong associations with some of the world’s largest IT and IT Services business including Unisys, BT, Intel and Sun Microsystems and in depth knowledge of both the finance and telecommunications sectors.

Gary Wright

Ian Hallam

Ian is an advisor to the Board of Data Imperium, having had 25 years of experience in the Financial IT sector. Ranging from creating and directing business and product strategy, delivering and launching new products to market, leading M&A activity, through to directing operations both on & off-shore, strategic application development, programme management, sales and marketing. He has worked for small private equity backed companies as well as large corporate organisations.

Ian was previously the CEO of 3i Infotech Europe, a subsidiary of a global technology and services provider. Prior to this he held numerous senior positions, leading business divisions and products centres for Rhyme Systems and Misys. He started his career as a software developer at ACT Financial Systems.

With a wealth of business leadership and operational experience, coupled with a financially driven, innovative and entrepreneurial mind-set, he thrives on dynamic changing and stimulating environments and interaction with people at all levels. This, coupled with developing strong client relationships and business partners, Ian believes has been instrumental in driving business forward to success.

Mick Newman is a Director of Data Imperium. Mick started his career in financial services in 1975. He has worked with a number of Stock Exchanges across the world, and was services division Marketing Director at London Stock Exchange for two years. He is an experienced Global IT Programme and Delivery Director/Head with an extensive background in managing change through either managing major projects or organising services primarily, but not exclusively in the financial services marketplace. Michael’s skill set lies in business solutions transformation using IT project management, this combines strong technology and programme management skills with business analysis and marketing exposure; ranging from the identification of new business opportunities to the provision of effective customer services. Michael was a Member of the Securities Institute. He has also produced IT strategic direction and implementation papers for the London Stock Exchange and Plus Markets, as well a operating at board and executive committee level in a number of different organisations. Michael has a BSc Pure Maths and a MSc Computer Science.

Gary Wright

Gary Wright is a director of Data Imperium and has been in the finance industry since 1969, holding senior positions within several major financial institutions. He was involved in many industry committees including setting the CISI Operations Management exam papers and has been a guest lecturer at Reading University and at the ICMA. Gary has also undertaken a range of consultancy assignments as well as working in an advisory and industry relationship capacity for a number of leading suppliers, enabling him to understand problems from both the buyer’s and seller’s perspective. He founded B.I.S.S. Research in 1997 creating the B.I.S.S. Accreditation, which independently benchmarked international financial technology. Gary is highly sought after for his views and advice on the impacts on business and operations of market and regulatory changes. He has run a number of industry workshops, training sessions and roundtables and chaired, moderated many conferences. His blogs, articles, whitepapers and reports are published world-wide and he is an accomplished speaker and commentator on the many changes in the financial services market place. He is currently a director of  ISITC Europe CIC and sits on the DLT/Blockchain Standards Committee for the British Standards Association.
